Quilters Make Great Comforters
Quilters are Piecemakers
Blessed are the children of quilters, for they will inherit the quilts.
When Life Hands you Scraps, Make Quilts
May your sorrows be patched and your joys be quilted.

I'm a quilter & my house is in pieces.
When I learned how to quilt...I forgot how to cook.
Life is like a patchwork
Make it precious day by day
Have a pattern for your life
Adding fun along the way!

A quilt is like love: made to last forever.
A quilt is a blanket of love.

A quilt sewn together with utmost care
quilted with love is a treasure to share.
"Dear old-fashioned quilts with your patches so gay
You retain all the charm of an earlier day
Like the old-fashioned garden our grandmothers grew
Our love never wanes for them or for you."
--Carlie Sextan
Friendship is a tapestry woven through the years
with threads of joy and laughter, happiness and tears.
I count the stitches line by line; and watch the thread record the time.
Love and memories we impart to quilt the fabric of the heart.
"May the colors of your life be bright and the threads in your life very strong."
-Genie Barnes
May you be free from cares and woes
when 'neath this quilt you seek repose.
Piece, piece, piece, and lo, a counter pane
May each person resting here
Find peace, sweet peace
And ne'er encounter pain ...Unknown
Quilts, like friends, are different, colorful, fun, warm and comforting--
And you can never acquire enough of either.
This quilt, wrought with so much love,
Each tiny stitch you see,
Will be there when I am gone,
Reminding you of me.
When I give to you
What I make with my hands
I share with my heart.
I was thinking warm thoughts of you day after day,
As stitch upon stitch in this quilt I was taking.
And I hope that the pleasure you find in it may be
As great as the pleasure I found in the making.
-Judy Grow.
Quilting is a scrap of Happiness! ...Sharon
It's Your Quilt:
It's OK if you sit on your quilt.
It's OK if your bottle gets spilt
If you swallow some air
And you burp, don't despair,
It's OK if you spit on your quilt.
There are scraps old and new in your quilt,
Put together for you on your quilt.
If your gums feel numb
'Cause your teeth haven't come,
It's OK if you chew on your quilt.
We expect you to lie on your quilt.
If you hurt, you may cry on your quilt.
On a cold rainy night,
Don't you fret, you're all right,
You'll be snug, warm and dry on your quilt.
-- Nancy Riddell
To all, to each a fair good night and pleasing dreams and slumber light.
- Sir Walter Scott
This quilt is made of cloth and thread
to place upon your little bed.
It's not an heirloom - just to keep,
but to lie upon as you count sheep.
Or perhaps the floor's the perfect place
for a doll and teddy picnic space.
This quilt can be anything you dream -
from Superman's cape to the robe of a queen.
Pretend its a raft adrift at sea,
or just cuddle up when you watch TV.
So use it up and wear it out-
I promise I won't yell or pout,
Just tell me when its days are through,
and I'll make another, just for you.
-- Kathy Sherlock
Weaving Life's Design
As a knot appears unexpectedly in a thread,
so disappointment blocks the smoothness of life.
If a few deft strokes can untangle the skein, life continues evenly.
But if it cannot be corrected, then it must be quietly woven into the design. Thus the finished piece can still be beautiful-
although not exactly as planned.

How much like a patchwork quilt we are;
Some of us are bright and gay,
some are quieter, more delicate and subdued.
Yet how well we blend together,
The quieter ones set off the colorful.
The brighter ones accentuate the pastels.
Often, the more fragile pieces
Hold the sturdy ones together;
Blessed are we to be varied.
All of us are stitched with love and tied to one another.
Reap the benefits of your sewing,
Baste consideration into your life,
Hem up disagreements,
and embellish it all with love.
May there always be work for your hands to do
May your purse always hold a coin or two
May the sun always shine on your windowpane
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

I count the stitches line by line
And watch the thread record the time
My eyes were strong, my hands were true
And filled with love made this for you.
Suggestion - for a quilty version, you could use 'I create the stitches line by line' for the first line.
